Tuesday night was Assignment Night at the Club. With the late withdrawal of our judge Hywel Harries our own International Judge Roy Thomas took the controls. This was made even harder for him because he was judging ‘cold’ having never pre-viewed the images. Roy done an excellent job with his unique judging style and good humoured banter.
The print entry was first, with only 13 prints to judge Roy had time to be critical and the Winner was Brian Callard with ‘Scintillating Straws’, closely followed by Colin Kelly with ‘Look at Me’ and Haydn Thomas with ‘Re-enactment Day’.
Next came the Projected Images and possibly a record entry in recent years of 23 images from 16 photographers. Again Brian Callard was declared the winner with ‘The Minister of Finance’ a unique take on the Greek financial status. Followed by Colin (curses foiled again) Kelly with ‘White Water’ and Haydn (still in shock) Thomas with ‘Sea Scapes’.
The standard of work this year was exceptional with several different methods of showing 4 images as 1 on display.
Well done to all who entered.
