With a total of 29 Clubs taking part this years Memorial Trophy was a good one to try and win.
The judge, Mr Nick Scott had more letters after his name than Dave Edwards and Haydn Thomas plus all the CPAGB’s in the club put together. So he knew what he was talking about, he also decided all his marks on the day so some confusion was present when he called out 17 err 18, err 17 until he decided his final scores.
Our first two prints Jonny Reb by Haydn Thomas and Hoar Frost by Brian Callard scored 19 and 18 respectively giving us a half way score of 37, joint third place with Llanelli CC, behind Bridgend (39) and Inn Focus (38).
Our next image Snow Leopard in Blizrd by Dave Edwards scored 20, (one of 13 scored on the day), this put all our hopes on our last print Tiger in the Snow by Linda Cowen, but when Inn Focus scored a 20 we knew the best we could achieve was 2nd place, the tension was mounting as the judge scored our final print, alas he deemed it too saturated and hit us with a 17.
Our final score of 74 put us in joint 3rd with Tenby, behind Inn Focus (78) and Llanelli CC (75). All in all a good result.
