With some trepidation, 5 members of Neath found their way to Cwmgorse last night for our last battle before Xmas. There were 4 clubs in total but I think we outnumbered them for supporters, well done to those who turned up. And so to battle. The judge, Gareth Martin, started off with the Projected Images and straight away our first image Blue Tailed Damselfly (Terry Goss) scored a maximum 20. With our following images getting 16’s and 17’s and one 13 by half time we were in 2nd position on 132, 8 points behind Pembrey. Round 2 (Prints) and we started with a 17 from Arfon John. This was followed by two 16’s, one 17,  two 18’s, a 19 from Dave Edwards (Polar Bear) and another 20 this time from Haydn Thomas (Otter) giving us a Print score of 141. This added to our first round score gave us a total of 273. With Trostre scoring 270, Pembrey 268 and Amman Valley 265 this was a win for Neath. With Arfon John and Denise Evans winning half of the raffle prizes we really cleaned up. Our thanks go to Amman Valley CC for hosting the evening and supplying a superb buffet and to Gareth Martin for an all round excellent evening of judging.
