I prefer this colour version. Dryslwyn castle is more obvious as a main subject in the landscape and the meandering Afon Tywi is more visible. Have you tried the dehaze filter in photoshop with this scene?

My Photoshop is the last disc release (Photoshop CS6), so sadly I don't have the newer features to play with. One day I will no doubt be forced to update and start paying a subscription, but I paid a lot of money for my disc and I wants my money's worth!
