Thanks Alan. On the night the judge wasn't keen on the narrow depth of field, but I'm happy with it because that was a deliberate feature. I wanted to isolate the red pawn as much as I could. He had a similar criticism of my other image of broken watches (and scored it 15), so I guess we just have slightly differing aesthetic taste of out of focus elements. Not the end of the world. I was happy with this 17 score.
