The greenish translucent body shows the colour of their background protecting the Frog from predation. In this species the beating heart, stomach and intestines can be seen through the skin.

There are more things in Heaven and Earth etc........ This one was finger nail size, there are 13 species of glass frog, the largest being 1.5". This one was picked up and placed on the side of a small fish tank to allow a shot from underneath. The breeding habits are interesting, but thats another story.
