Not a bad shot, Alan. What makes you think it an orb spider?

It's rather odd but this spider seems to only have three pairs of legs and doesn't appear to be damaged. I wonder if it's a mutation?

Thanks Peter not the greatest image I know, just different. Four white sports on the back suggest the four spot orb, but I'm no expert.

Well spotted Arfon. Not easy to see in this image but the two black spots towards the top of the spider may be the remains of legs lost or never grown. Other photos I have, make it more clear. At first I thought it was something it had captured ready to eat later.
